Membership
The age old art of ceramics is greatly enriched by potters coming together and working alongside one another. At Studio Pottery London, we offer potters the chance to belong, by becoming an intrinsic part of our ever-growing community as members.
Our members area is fully equipped with wheels and hand-building surfaces, spacious and flooded with natural light. Access to the library and classroom areas expands creating space to the benefit of all.
Expert tutors and technicians are always on-hand for advice, and we run a regular programme of talks, gallery visits, masterclasses and international trips, all aimed at nurturing community and developing individual practice.
Members have the opportunity to display and sell their work in our twice-yearly Open Studio weekends and through our online store. Members’ work is selected for window and vitrine display providing valuable exposure in the heart of London’s Belgravia.
How to become a member
We are accepting applications for Studio Pottery London membership. Please apply through our online site and we will come back to you to arrange a visit to the Studio.
Price
£417: Membership per month, rolling contract with a minimum of 2 months
£2,226: 6 month membership (paid in monthly instalments)
£4,035: 1 year membership (paid in monthly instalments)
Membership Includes
- Studio access (up to 18 hours per week): Tuesday to Thursday 9.30am-11pm, Friday 9.30am-8pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-8pm (Monday closed)
- Full-time ceramic technician on-site
- Mentoring tutorials with Gregory Tingay, Resident Potter
- Includes all glazing and firing of work
LOOKBOOK
Space
- Personal storage space (100cm long x 50cm deep x 50cm high) and access to communal storage areas. *Offsite storage available upon request
- Communal library, kitchenette and changing areas
Material
- White, buff and black stoneware, crank, APC and porcelain clays from established Stoke-on-Trent suppliers can be purchased via the studio
- Reasonable use of in-house glazes and firings. Communal firings are 1000oC and high-temperature glaze firings
- Use of materials store, work areas, tools, potters wheels, plaster facilities, extruder, slab roller, pug mill, cleaning and waste systems, reclaim area & service, kitchenette and WIFI
Programming
- Dynamic programming: guest experts lecturing on topics such as ceramic practice, history, and culture
- SPL community cultural visits, masterclasses and international trips
Housekeeping
- Guest passes available on request
- Maximum studio usage is 18 hours per week
