Avidani (1991) holds an MA in Ceramics and Glass from Royal College of Arts.
She is an award-winning artist and has exhibited in several galleries and institutions around the world including the British Ceramics Biennale / Fresh (2023) Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, WAC, XII Florence Art Biennale (2021), Milan Design Week, and more. She is currently represented by Aleston Fine Arts, London.
Avidani embarks on an exploration of symbolic divisions between bodies, this fascination with liminal spaces, dissolving lines, and porous boundaries permeates the entire project while remaining firmly grounded in a material-led practice that transforms the studio into an expansive arena for visual and tactile research.
Her current body of work entails a meticulous investigation into the morphology of a divided cube, with a particular focus on the transformative processes of malformations.
This exploration encapsulates the interplay between contrasting qualities, including softness and hardness, dynamism and stasis, while also evoking subtle allusions to the human form.
Each cube consists of 5-7 components that interlock into one dynamic cube.
Materials: High-fire stoneware, slips, glazes.
